FAQs

Not familiar with the concept of indoor snow resorts? We’ve got you covered!

General

Yes!  We’ll be making real snow for our enormous indoor snow area every day, year-round.

You bet!  Our goal is to provide a wide range of experiences in all parts of our resorts—within the snowdome, as well as other indoor and outdoor areas around the resort.  If you’re not a skier or boarder, that’s not a problem—we have lots for you to do.  If you still want a winter experience, you can enjoy our snow play area with tubing and frolicking in a winter wonderland.  If you want to keep it on the warmer side, we’ll have several food and beverage outlets, an indoor adventure area, retail shops, and other fun things to do.  Outside, we’ll offer activities such as a gravity-powered mountain coaster, zip lines, community gathering spaces, and hiking/biking trails for you to enjoy.

Sure!  If you’re not a skier or boarder but other people in your family/group are, you can purchase a pass to use the snow play area and enjoy that.  Or, if you prefer warmer activities, our resort will be designed with numerous panoramic views into the snowdome area.  You can choose to get a meal, relax with a beverage, or simply pull up a chair and people-watch the skiers, boarders, and others in the snowdome!

Each of our resorts may be designed a bit differently, so exact measurements will depend on which resort you visit.  Within the snowdome, each resort will offer multiple slopes to provide great experiences whether you are a beginner, an intermediate-level participant, or an expert.  Generally, the vertical drop we offer is on par with, and even longer than, quite a few ski resorts elsewhere in the U.S. such as Timber Ridge, Sapphire Valley, Christmas Mountain, Brantling Ski Slopes, Alpine Valley Ski Area, Lost Valley, Buena Vista Ski Resort, Swiss Valley, Wilmot Mountain, Snow Snake Mountain, Mt. Holiday Ski Area, and many others.

Yes!  We’re working with master planners, architects, engineers, and other professionals with tremendous experience in designing family/group resorts.  Everything will be easily accessible to you and your family/group to enjoy!

We are hoping to announce one to two new locations soon, with the goal of expanding to many major metropolitan areas in North America.  As with any large-scale entertainment development, a lot of factors go into identifying appropriate locations and developing these facilities, so we can’t project the exact timing of announcements of future sites or the development of our resorts.  But we’ll communicate out to all Investors as those plans take shape.  Stay tuned!

Everyone will be comfortable!  Recreational to competitive level skiers can enjoy the slopes while novices can learn to ski on the learning area.

Absolutely!  Our message is “Snowsports for Everyone” and we believe in offering a fun snowsports experience to every guest.  Our indoor snow area will have a dedicated teaching/learning area, so even if you’ve never been on skis or a board before, you’ll have a comfortable, safe environment to learn the ropes and prepare to tackle the slopes!

No problem! Whether it’s winter, spring, summer or fall, you can choose to leave all your gear at home. We’ll have a full-services rental facility within the resort, so you can easily get anything you might need (skis, snowboard, boots, hat, gloves, etc.) to step into the snowdome and enjoy the slopes! Of course, if you’re more comfortable using your own gear, please bring it along and enjoy the slopes using that!

Our pricing is designed to be more affordable than a visit to a typical outdoor ski location, and, when you couple that with the convenience our resorts offer, we think it presents a great value for any snowsports enthusiast. As we get closer to opening, we will begin publishing pricing, however, we anticipate offering a variable pricing model with lower cost pricing during lower demand periods, and higher pricing during premium periods. At the end of the day, we want to make sure that anyone who wants the opportunity to participate in snowsports can, and our pricing will reflect that!

Our attached hotel is a complement to the indoor snowdome experience, but you’re not required to stay there to use the snowdome.  We’re designing our resort for a visit of a few hours or a few days, depending on each guest’s time and budget.  And, your hotel room can be a great basecamp for you or your family to use to enjoy other attractions near our resort.  For example, our Fairfax Peak resort will be located a short driving distance from numerous historical sites and attractions in the Washington, DC area.  You can tour all day, and then come back, hit the slopes, and enjoy some après-ski time in our restaurants and shops.

It’s easy!  Similar to outdoor snowsports locations, we’ll offer a couple different vertical transportation options to get you to the top of the slopes to begin your experience.  If you’ve visited outdoor ski resorts, you’ll see things you know well, like a chair lift and other transport items, like a magic carpet belt and/or a J-bar, to get you up the slopes.  You can choose what works best for you!

We maintain a constant temperature of 28 F (or -2 C) inside the snowdome, to ensure the best guest experience possible.  Plus, our indoor slope eliminates concerns about wind, sun glare, and other potential outdoor distractions, all to provide you with a great trip down the slopes, every time!

Of course!  Our resort is open to everyone and easily accessible to those in the metro area we serve.  Come on by, enjoy a walk around our basecamp area, and enjoy watching others hitting the slopes!

Certainly!  We’re designing flexible meeting space suitable for all types of group events, including birthday parties, reunions, clubs, and other get-togethers.

Our hotel attached to the resort will be an upscale hotel, comparable in quality to hotels at other family resorts like indoor waterparks.  Rooms will be designed in a number of styles to comfortably accomodate up to 6 guests.  And, we’ll offer some special perks for our hotel guests that can give them benefits like extended hours of access to the snowdome, discounts for food and beverage, and other items.

This question comes up quite a bit – we are committed towards being a great complementary experience to outdoor snowsports locations!  The experience of skiing or snowboarding inside won’t replace your trip to a big mountain resort, but it can definitely make your visit to an outdoor location more enjoyable and productive!  For example, at our resorts, if you’re a beginner you can get comfortable with the basics of snowsports in a controlled, unintimidating environment with instructors and others at the same skill level.  Or, if you’re a veteran skier or boarder, you can brush up on your techniques when there’s no snow outside, or you don’t want the time and hassle involved with a trip to outdoor slopes.  For either the beginner or experienced skier/boarder, using our slopes year-round helps to improve your next trip to an outdoor location. Remember, we’ll offer perfect conditions, year-round, so any skier or boarder can be sure of a fantastic experience when they visit our resort.
